Phase 5: Continuous improvement and cooperation

In this phase, you receive good advice on how to influence suppliers to remedy problematic CSR issues and cooperate on continuous improvement.

If a supplier’s self-assessment, or a supplier visit, reveals breaches of your Code of Conduct, you should discuss with the supplier how you can use constructive, effective cooperation to achieve continuous improvement. In practice, this means that you share a mutual understanding of each other’s roles, that you are open and honest towards each other, and that you each undertake to invest time and resources in the improvement process. You should always use your opportunities to influence the supplier to ensure continuous improvement.
