Phase 1: Ambitions and organisation
In this phase, there is good advice on how to determine the level of ambition for responsible supply chain management, as well as how to organise this work within the company.
A clearly formulated level of ambition and a well-functioning organisation are vital to the effective handling of the risks of an adverse impact on CSR principles in your supply chain. By CSR principles is meant internationally recognised principles for human rights and labour rights, environmental protection and anti-corruption.
To be able to make requirements of your suppliers' CSR performance, you must manage expectations of your own company's CSR performance and be able to document your own compliance with the requirements you make of your suppliers. You can read more under Keeping your own house in order and Responsible supply chain management.
The two stages of this phase are:

- Set goals for your activities
- Allocate resources to the work
