PRI are UN-backed principles for responsible investments that comprise six general guidelines for investors' corporate responsibility initiatives. All companies engaged in investment activities can use the six principles, but companies can also opt to subscribe to PRI. Companies whose core business area is not investment can instead refer to the ten UN Global Compact principles. Investors who are members of PRI include institutional investors, investment banks and investment advisers.
